Description
The domestic TOPAS wastewater treatment plant in combination with the excess sludge dewatering box guarantees operation for 1 year without the need to transport excess sludge. This unique solution is protected by the Utility model number PUV 2022-39755 (in the Czech Republic).

Technical Solution Essence
The essence of the technical solution is that the sludge tank of the treatment plant is equipped with an air-lift pump for pumping excess sludge into the dewatering box which has a permeable bottom covered with semi-permeable fabric. The excess water seeping through the bottom of the dewatering box is returned to the treatment plant. The dewatering period for the sludge to reach a state where it can be easily extracted ranges from 15 to 30 days, depending on the quality and density of the sludge. The cycle of filling the dewatering box can be repeated, considering the box’s volume, and the manually dewatered sludge can typically be extracted once every 6 to 12 months. This technical solution significantly increases the comfort of operating domestic wastewater treatment plants. The advantage, compared to previously known methods, is that due to the long period required for sludge thickening into a “crumbly” state there is no need to apply chemicals to accelerate the dewatering process.

Description
The domestic TOPAS S Wastewater Treatment Plant with updated control guarantees operation for up to 6 months after interruption of sewage Inflow.
This unique solution was tested by the Testing Institute SZÚ in Brno with excellent results. The solution is based on a combination of the SBR cleaning system, a preceding accumulation tank and specially adapted control software.
